How to care for your REV'IT! motorcycle gloves

Well-cared-for gloves last longer, feel better, and protect you when it matters. The right method depends on the outer shell materials your gloves are made of. Our range of motorcycle gloves are made with textile, leather or a combination of both and can contain a waterproof membranes like GORE-TEX or Hydratex. Use this article as a practical, step-by-step reference to keep your REV'IT! gloves in great condition.

Golden rules (for all gloves)

  • Read the care label first; follow those instructions over anything below
  • Brush off dirt before cleaning
  • Do not wring and/or twist your gloves
  • Close all zips, snaps and hook-and-loop tabs
  • Avoid the use of any (aggressive) solvents (they can weaken the materials used in your gloves)
  • After caring, dry your gloves slowly at room temperature, away from direct sunlight or any heat sources

Cleaning (hand only)

  • Brush off any dirt and grit with a soft brush
  • Wipe the outer shell with a barely damp microfiber cloth
  • For heavier grime, use a small amount of our REV'IT! Care - Maintenance Leather Care Cleaner on a soft (!) damp sponge for the leather parts (NOT on suede/nubuck!) of the gloves only, or a very little amount of our REV'IT! Care - Textile Wash for the textile parts of your gloves. Work up light foam; do not saturate
  • Wipe away residue with a clean damp cloth
  • Pat dry with a towel, then reshape the fingers and cuffs

 Drying

  • Gently press the gloves in between a towel to remove any access moist. Do not wring or twist the gloves
  • Air dry with cuffs pointing down to help moisture escape

 Conditioning

  • For gloves with a leather palm or fully leather:

Note: our REV'IT! Care - Maintenance Leather Care Wax creates a thin film which will act as a light water repellent as well (on leather parts of your gloves)

  • For textile gloves or with a textile back:
  • For any of our gloves with a waterproof membrane (Hydratex or GORE-TEX)
    • Respect the care and conditioning instructions as mentioned above. The waterproof membrane sits behind the outer shell material, and it is the outer shell that requires maintenance, not the membrane itself. The waterproof membrane can only function as expected with a properly cared for outer shell
